The Very Hungry Caterpillar's Meals: A felt board that has foods from the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar that the caterpillar ate. This was directed towards toddlers but usable for preschool as well. Helped with cognitive development by searching for the foods and sorting them.

Clay Continents: An activity based around colourful Play-Doh and the shapes of the 7 continents. This experience was directed towards children ages 3-6 to help strengthen fine motor development when manipulating the clay into the shape of the continents.

Box of Love: A sensory bin filled with different textures using colours based on Valentines' Day. This sensory bin was directed to toddler age for them to explore the different textures and develop their fine motor skills.

Obstacle Course: An obstacle course made to throw, catch and run. This experience was directed to preschoolers to help with their gross motor development and cognitive development when problem solving and deciding what to do next.

Sensory Bottles: Three bottles filled with coloured rice, beads, tiny items, and animal figurines​. Each bottle has its own theme to keep the children interested (Ocean, Farm, and Easter). This activity was directed towards children 2-3 years old to help with self-regulation when they shake and search for the animals in the bottles.

Learning Across Continents: A matching card game that involves animals, items, and landmarks from around the world. This activity was directed towards children 3-6 years old to help strengthen cognitive development when recognizing what is on each card and sorting them.

Find the Animals: A tray with a layer of rice for children to use a paintbrush and sweep away to find animals. The tray is covered in stickers of different types of animals and insects. This activity was designed for children ages 2-3 to help develop fine motor skills while holding the paintbrush.​



Artifact 1
​Rock Painting: Big rocks from the yard, watercolour paint trays, water, and a variety of paint brushes. This activity provides the children with an opportunity to express themselves and their creativity. This open-ended experience allows the children to explore and encourages imagination, creativity, independence, and gives them confidence when they present their creations. This activity was designed for children ages 1-6 to support their hand-eye coordination and their fine motor skills when holding or manipulating the paint brushes.

​Artifact 2
​Sensory Lemonade Stand: A sensory bin filled with pompoms, paper grass, felt lemons, and plastic ice cubes to resemble regular lemonade as well as pink lemonade. There is also a "Homemade Lemonade" sign, cups, a pitcher, scoops, spoons, tongs, and pipe-cleaner straws. This activity allows children to engage in sensory exploration while also engaging in dramatic play. This activity supports multiple domains of development. It allows children to strengthen their fine motor skills, develop language skills, and enhance their social-emotional skills. This activity was designed for children aged 1-6 to support their holistic development and allow them to explore at their own pace.
